Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OffPress (“OffPress,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use offpress.dev and our related services (the “Service”). We aim to collect as little as we need to run the Service well. By using OffPress, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign in, we store your email address and basic account details. We use passwordless “magic link” sign-in, so we do not store a password you've chosen.
- Site content you ask us to process. When you submit a website URL, we fetch and analyse that site's publicly available content — posts, pages, images, menus, and metadata — in order to scan, preview, rebuild, and host it for you.
- Billing information. If you purchase a plan or credits, payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive limited details such as your customer ID, the last four digits of your card, and transaction status. We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage and technical data. We collect basic logs (such as IP address, browser type, and actions taken) to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service — scanning, previewing, rebuilding, hosting, and editing your site.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To process payments and manage your plan and credits.
- To send you transactional email (sign-in links, build notifications, receipts, and account notices).
- To monitor, debug, and improve the Service, and to prevent abuse.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
3. The websites you migrate
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to migrate and reproduce the content of any website you submit. We process that content solely to deliver the Service to you. Your rebuilt site and its content remain yours. You can ask us to delete a site and its data at any time.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run OffPress — including hosting/infrastructure providers, our payment processor (Stripe), our email delivery provider (Elastic Email), and AI providers used to analyse and rebuild your site (such as Anthropic). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OffPress, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — if OffPress is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and site data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain certain records (such as billing and email logs) as required for legal, accounting, and security purposes. When you delete your account or a site, we delete or anonymise the associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honour these rights in line with applicable Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act) and other laws that apply to you. To exercise any right, email privacy@offpress.dev.
8. International users
OffPress is operated from Canada and our infrastructure may be located in Canada, the European Union, or elsewhere. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in countries other than your own.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
